Itinerary

Begin your day by meeting your guide in the lobby of your hotel, then proceed to Tian'anmen Square. From there, take a leisurely walk from the South Meridian Gate to the Forbidden City. Spend ample time exploring this imperial palace, which served as the residence of emperors and as the ceremonial and political hub.

Immerse yourself in the rich history of the palace, which housed both the Ming and Qing dynasties for 500 years. Begin by exploring the southern section, known as the Outer Court, from where the emperor ruled the country. Then, venture into the northern section, the Inner Court, to witness where he resided with his royal family.

Then enjoy an authentic lunch (optional) before continuing your exploration at the Mutianyu Great Wall. Here, you'll visit a less crowded section, allowing for a quiet hike of about 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a cable car halfway up and begin your hike from there. When you're done, take the cable car back down.

Conclude your tour with an optional roast duck dinner.
